~ Chapter 4 ~
Kevin opened his eyes. Slowly. He tried to focus on where he was. He couldn't remember. Feeling a movement beside him, he turned over to see a luscious, naked creature sprawled beside him. He couldn't remember her. 'How did I end up here?' he wondered. He reached over and shook her lightly. She stirred, but didn't open her eyes. He got out of the bed and headed for the shower.
The cold water hit him square in the face, jerking him awake. His head was pounding and his throat was dry. The shower curtain opened and the luscious creature stood before him. "May I join you?" she asked, staring at his torso.
He smiled at her, offering his hand in invitation. He watched her as she lathered up, his eyes roaming up and down her wet body. How could he forget having sex with that body? "This is probably gonna make me sound like a total loser," he told her, "but I can't remember your name."
"That's ok," she said, smiling as he took the sponge from her and started washing her back, "you were pretty out of it last night. My name's Alec."
"Alec. How did we end up here?"
"I was backstage before the show. You propositioned me and here we are."
"Tell me, was I any good? I seemed to have a memory problem at the moment."
"Hell yea!" she exclaimed, making him feel good.
"Well, since I can't remember how good I was, would you mind if I showed you again?"
Alec pulled him closer. "I can't think of any reason why not." She trailed her index finger down his chest. Kevin grew hard in an instant.
They had sex in the shower and then on the bathroom floor. Kevin felt his headache subsiding.
Alec had ordered room service. He sat down on the bed, munching on a muffin. "Alec, are you a fan?"
"Kind of. I work for a television station in Amsterdam and they sent me here for..." she stopped as Kevin cursed, flying off the bed. "Where's the fire?"
"Shit..shit..shit! I completely forgot that we have an interview at the TV station..." he looked at his watch and shrieked, "...in 15 minutes!"
"I'll drive you there. That's where I have to go also."
AJ jumped on Kevin the second he walked into the green room. "Where the fuck have you been?" Then he noticed Alec standing behind Kevin. "Nevermind, I can see where you were. Next time try thinking with your big head!"
"Fuck off AJ! I got here on time, didn't I?"
"Yea, but meanwhile everyone's been asking where you were and we had to cover your ass. AGAIN!"
Howie intervened. "AJ, he's here now. There's no need for a shouting match."
AJ glared at him. "How many times have we covered his ass this past year?" He turned back to Kevin. "Smarten up Richardson before you break this group!"
Kevin ignored him and went over to Alec, who was standing by the door. "I'm sorry about all this. Thanks for everything."
She gave him a peck on the cheek. "One word of advice. Stop whatever you're doing before it's too late."
She left the room, leaving Kevin staring after her.
"I can't believe that you talked me into coming here with you," Shae-Lyn complained as she and her friend Loreto walked through the terminal in Gent.
Loreto rolled her eyes. "Stop complaining. You need to get out of that rut you're in."
"Whatever. But three months in Europe? My cats won't even remember me by the time I get back home."
"I'm sure they're happy for you. Not quit complaining!"
Shae-Lyn muttered something then said, "How much farther to the baggage claim? My feet hurt."
Loreto arched an eyebrow. "You're complaining again. Once you see my surprise, maybe you'll shut up."
"You keep mentionning this surprise. What is it? I know the BSBs are here for a concert. Did you get us tickets?"
"Maybe."
Shae-Lyn sighed. "When are you going to tell me?"
"Soon." Loreto smiled mysteriously. She didn't want to talk about it for fear her excitement would show. The thought that in a few hours she would come face to face with the man she adored more than anything, the one and only Kevin Richardson, sent thrills and chills through her body. And she knew that Shae would die when she saw Nick.
Loreto Perez was 21. She and Shae-Lyn Scott, who was 23, had "met" over the Internet two years earlier. Loreto lived in Toronto and had graduated from university six months earlier with a degree in Marketing and a certificate in PR. She was quiet, sincere, and thoughtful. She and Shae had bonded over their mutual interest in the Backstreet Boys. Shae-Lyn lived in Montreal where she worked as a Secretary for the Montreal Tourism Center. They had gotten together many times over the years and found that they had more in common than they thought.
Loreto's dream job was to work for the Backstreet Boys. She sent her resume and a letter with all her ideas to The Firm, their management, and they called her and requested she fly in for an interview. They liked her and hired her on the spot, telling her that she had the chutzpah that they were looking for. She was on a three month trial and her assignment was to accompany the guys on their current European tour. All expenses were paid, plus salary. She was allowed one person with her. She knew she had to bring Shae. Shae loved Nick to bits and Loreto knew Nick was single. Maybe, just maybe, they would meet and the sparks would fly. She wanted her friend to be happy.
Convincing Shae was another story. She had 1000 reasons why she couldn't go from her cats to her job. Loreto wouldn't give in easily, and she finally persuaded her to go. Loreto knew that once Shae feasted her eyes on the Blond Sex God, as she called him, she would be kissing her feet. She giggled then thought about the evening ahead. They had VIP front row seats at the concert, and afterwards, Loreto would take Shae-Lyn backstage to meet Nick and the guys. What a Summer this was going to be.
